Celebrate from April 1 to April 30.

April is National Poetry Month, and the City is gearing up for a series of poetic events and workshops across Mississauga. These will spark your imagination and ignite your passion for poetry.

Mississauga’s 6th Annual Poetry Slam

Thursday, April 24, 2025 | 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | Hazel McCallion Library – Noel Ryan Auditorium

Watch our young literary talents in the community perform poetry and spoken word original submissions. Interested artists are invited to complete a submission package by April 16 to be considered to perform in the Poetry Slam.

Join the City of Mississauga’s Poet Laureate, Andrea Josic for a Poetry Workshop inspired by nature in the City. This workshop will include a walking tour of the Meadowvale Community Centre grounds. Please dress for the weather.
