Author Talk with Scott Chantler

Rogers Theatre | 12-1 pm

Scott Chantler is the cartoonist of the critically-acclaimed graphic novels Bix and Two Generals. His other work includes Northwest Passage and the Three Thieves series. He is hard at work on his next project, the Squire & Knight series of all-ages fantasy adventure graphic novels for First Second.

Author Talk with Jey Pawlik & Michelle Parker (Topaz Comics)

Rogers Theatre | 3-4 pm

Michelle Parker and Jey Pawlik are a comic creating duo who have been working together since 2013 under the name Topaz Comics. They have several short comic and anthology stories under their belts. Together, their work focuses on queer characters and the small moments of joy and heartbreak.

10 – 10:30 am	Superhero Storytime An interactive program with superhero stories, songs, rhymes and early literacy activities.	All Ages
10:30 – 11:30 am	Costume Creation Station Design a superhero costume to wear in the costume parade.	All Ages
11:30 am – 12 pm	Children’s Costume Parade Come show off your costumes at MCX! Create your superhero costume and join us at 11:30 am for a parade around the convention!	All Ages
10 am – 4 pm	Creative Zone Drop-in crafts all day including origami, corner bookmarks, create a comic, comic collage bookmarks, and more. Until supplies last.	All Ages
1 – 2 pm	Character Design with Meaghan Carter Learn how to draw comic characters with a comic artist. Meaghan is a Toronto-based comic artist and colorist. She has worked with Oni Press, IDW and Harper Alley. She teaches Cartooning for Illustration at Max the Mutt college of Animation.	All Ages

BattleTech is a science-fiction “space opera”: a factional, militarized universe set in the thirty-first century, a future where humanity has spread to the stars and spawned titanic interstellar empires, each nation controlling hundreds of worlds across a region of space stretching a thousand light years and beyond.
