This year’s event will be held at Hazel McCallion Central Library on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15.

Join industry professionals Allison O’Toole, Derek Laufman, and Jason Loo as they share their journeys from aspiring creators to published artists and editors. Learn about the creative process, the business side of comics, and how to break into the industry—whether you’re a writer, artist or just starting out.
Comic Book Readers Theatre with J. Torres

Experience comics like never before in this lively, interactive reading session! Torres will kick things off with dramatic readings from his short comics, then invite volunteers from the audience to join in and bring the panels to life. Learn how to craft spine-tingling stories that rely on mood, pacing, and emotion – not just monsters or gore. Participants will explore techniques for building atmosphere using examples from Vuong’s comic The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn, then collaborate to create an original spooky scenario and bring it to life as a quick three-page comic sequence.
