Mississauga Library’s Author Talk series features a wide range of talented writers. Hear authors read from their books, ask questions, learn about the writing process, and find out more about their craft of telling captivating stories. For ages 13 and over.

Andrew F. Sullivan is the author of The Marigold, a finalist for the Aurora Awards and the Locus Awards, and named a Best Book of the Year by Esquire, The Verge, Book Riot and the Winnipeg Free Press. He cowrote The Handyman Method with Nick Cutter, a novel about home improvement gone wrong. Sullivan is also the author of the novel WASTE, a Globe & Mail Best Book of the Year, and the short story collection All We Want is Everything, a Globe & Mail Best Book of the Year and finalist for the ReLit Award. He lives in Hamilton, Ontario.

R.H. Thomson has appeared in film and theatre across Canada, as Matthew Cuthbert in Anne With An E, in the movie Chloe directed by Atom Egoyan, as Marshall McLuhan in The Message by Jason Sherman and This Was The World by Ellie Moon. As well as being an advocate for the arts, R.H. has worked on many history/arts projects. For the First World War Centenary, he built The World Remembers-Le Monde Se Souvient, an international commemoration exhibit now installed at the Canadian War Museum –theworldremembers.org. He is a Member of the Order of Canada, was awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement and is also winner of a Gemini, and a Genie.

In his debut book By the Ghost Light, R.H. Thomson offers an extraordinary look at his family’s history while providing a powerful examination of how we understand war and its aftermath.
